Electronic Locks Carts from Phoenix
If you answer “yes” to one or more of the following questions, you should consider eLOCK carts when choosing you cart features:
- Do you need to restrict cart access?
- Do you need to show tamper evidence when a cart or drawer is accessed?
- Do you need the cart to automatically relock after a certain period of time?
- Do you need to be able to track cart access and/or download detailed “Audit Reports”?
The new Phoenix Electronic Locks (eLOCKs) are programmed with the ability to adjust the auto relock timer using the keypad on the cart!
One of the primary benefits of Phoenix’s eLOCKs is the ability to have the cart re-lock itself after a predetermined amount of time, which allows clinicians to focus on patient care as opposed to remembering to lock their cart after use.
Our electronic locks are pre-programmed from the factory to re-lock after 10 minutes, as a default. However, re-lock timers can be adjusted to any interval, from one second to infinitely, simply by using the keypad on the cart – No need to adjust re-lock times on a laptop using the LockManager software! Being able to make timer adjustments at the cart adds a new level of convenience for clinicians!

Why Should You Favor Working With Family-Owned Businesses?
With a world of options when it comes to which companies you do business with, there are several advantages to working with those that are family-owned.
Increased Stability
If you’ve ever worked with a family-owned business before, you might have noticed that more often than not, several of the employees and the management are relatives. This fact usually results in more stable leadership over the years, because management often stays on until there is a personal reason for them to vacate the position (such as retirement, illness, or handing over the reins to the younger generation).
Not Just Committed to the Family
There’s a reason these companies are referred to as “the family business”, and it’s not just for the obvious reason. Relatives who work together in a firm they own are devoted to both the family and the business staying strong. There is greater accountability when the family name goes with every aspect of operations, from networking for new clients to providing customer support after the sale.
Flexibility and Getting It Done
Even though each employee in a family-owned business has their responsibilities, it’s very common for everyone to have a functional understanding of the jobs others do. This is quite an advantage, because it allows relatives to step into roles they don’t normally do, allowing the business to be less susceptible to issues that can arise when someone calls in sick or takes vacation. Customer support, for example, is less likely to be negatively affected when unexpected or longer-term absences occur.
Planning Well Into the Future
Quarterly goals are common for the more corporate-owned companies, while family-owned firms make plans for the next many years or sometimes decades. Doing so fosters a clearer strategy for the business and decision making that always aims for stability in the very long term.
Costs Not Necessarily Passed On To You
Difficulties in the economy often leads to corporate-owned businesses passing costs on down the line, but family-owned businesses are more likely to add finances to the company because they consider legacy. A board meeting of the family members, when compared to a board meeting of unrelated people, leads to more willingness for personal sacrifice for the long-term longevity of the firm (which could include foregoing some of their salary, investing personally, or skipping dividends for a period of time).
Hoshi Ryokan, which opened in 718, is a Japanese inn that for 46 generations has been operated by the same family. Can you imagine the depth of knowledge and understanding of the hospitality industry that the family has gained and passed on through each generation? While Phoenix has not been around for that many years, we’ve been family-owned for enough years to pass on the advantages of our situation to our valued customers. We love working with all of you, and consider you part of our family!
